Start your journey with CONFIDENCE!

You made it! Just landing on this page shows that you are interested in taking the next step. I can assure you, we are experts in first steps and are ready to invest in your future.

Dude in a Garage

I heard it said once that it’s probably easier to do a lot of things as an adult than it was as a child. For example, how hard was it to learn to walk? How hard was it to learn to ride a bike? Kids, even adults, scrape their knees, break a bone, and end up crying when they try these new ventures. This bootcamp will take effort, but if you can walk, you’ve done harder things and you’re well equipped to dive into the Learning and Development field!

This is the course for beginners. Bring whatever you know. Maybe it’s two decades as a classroom teacher, an MBA, or a high school diploma. It doesn’t matter! We are here to work with you, bringing up to speed with the Learning and Development field. Learning about research, methods, and getting a look at what a real course looks like will improve your confidence.

We even teach you how to use the software you’ll be using.

Tackling more than just the skills

Anyone who has spent time in the corporate world will let you know that skills are only half the battle. This is why we focus on hurdles that we have seen come up time and time again.

How do you deal with imposter syndrome?

How do you craft a pitch that gets the client excited?

How do you deal with crippling fear that you may make a mistake?

What do you do once you make a mistake?

These are all questions that we ask ourselves and some of us deal with. We believe it’s important to practice developing answers and creating paths that we can take when these questions arise. We will walk beside you, listen to practice pitches, and give you insights that will help you grow as a person.

Learning Journey

We have a full curriculum packed with both online and offline sessions. You’ll have access to reference videos to learn at your own pace, weekly meetings for 1:1 training, and worksheets for those who want to dig deeper. These worksheets include questions, quotes, ideas, and actions you can start using right away. Plus, all the materials will be available to you even after the training, so you’ll leave with practical tools to keep learning and growing.

Now, let’s be real—not everyone likes being told what to do. Maybe you prefer a more laid-back, go-with-the-flow approach, follow the river wherever it bends. If that’s you, feel free to check out Week 1 and skip the rest of the plan. But if you’re curious about what we’ll be diving into each week, keep reading!

Week 1 – Foundations of Excellence

In order to learn, the teacher and the student must get to know each other. In this session we will go over who you are, who your teacher is, and the best way forward. The steps below are just an outline, and they are completely flexible as no two people are the same.

Week 2 – Blueprinting for Success

In this session we learn how to plan a project. From effort it will take, to people involved, tools being used, and more. This, however, is only half the battle. We will also learn how to instill excitement in the client during the kick-off so they feel like this truly is a unique project.

Week 3 – Content Downloads And Gathering

We will go over the best techniques for “data dumps” and how to learn the information that you will have to create a learning experience for. The goal is to make the client feel like you are part of their team, rapidly learning, soaking in the info like a sponge. Also we will tackle how to navigate pitching fun ideas to the client. Even though we aren’t showing them images, the seed needs to be planted here first!

Week 4 – Solution Forming

Let’s take all the data we’ve collected and come up with some fun ways to structure it. This will be a mix of using learning theory and also our gut to come up with an idea that will really stick! We will put together a design document that lays out the best structure, communicates the learning goals and methods, and will act as the blueprint for the entire project. This is a highly technical week!

Week 5 – Script Writing/ Look and Feel

We’ve dreamed up our perfect learning experience, now let’s turn that into a reality. We will go over the different methods of writing and storytelling that help make a compelling learning experience. We will also talk about the different ways of structuring the script so it’s easier for Voice Over professionals, Course Builders, and of course the client to use.

Week 6 – Development Details

Let’s dig into the nitty gritty. We will go over design principles, animation principles, ux principles, all in an effort to level up the learning experience you are creating. Often times it’s just small tweaks, changing an approach by a couple degrees, that can make a big impact and change the trajectory for the learners.

Week 7 – Development Details

A continuation of Week 6, focusing on the areas you need more experience in and bringing the project to completion.

Week 8 – Delivery, Resume, and Misc. Outlier Topics

Delivery is more than just handing over the files. We will go over what makes an effective delivery and how to be someone that the client wants to return to. We will also go over your resume, how to position yourself for contracts and full-time positions, how to speak to your portfolio piece, and address any outlier topics.

Week 9 – You’re Flyin’ Solo!

This is you, continuing your journey on your own, but with a much better grasp on the wheel, a map, and a final destination!

Take the first step - We will do the rest
